Juan Soto Gets ‘Standing O’ In Nats’ Park Return

Written by WillTonerDMV

Friday night’s game between the Padres and Nationals marked the first time that former DC star Juan Soto returned to his former home ballpark since being traded 10 days earlier by the Nationals along with Josh Bell for prospects Robert Hassell III, James Wood, Jarlin Susana, top rookies Mackenzie Gore, CJ Abrams, and veteran Luke Voit. With Soto’s return came a resounding and almost deafening standing ovation for the Nationals faithful.

The Juan Soto trade will likely never be topped in baseball, and it’s evident why, so it’s good to see a future Hall of Famer get the ovation he so definitely deserved from his old ballpark.

Since being traded to San Diego along with Bell, Soto has made an impact on the offense. While only hitting one home run, Soto has a .357 batting average to go along with a 1.078 OPS.

After being a fan favorite, an MVP candidate, and an integral part of the 2019 World Series championship, it’s safe to say Juan Soto will forever be loved in the nation’s capital.
