In a rather unsurprising move by Minnesota Twins manager Rocco Baldelli, All Star pitcher Jose Berrios will get the start on Opening Day against the Oakland Athletics on March 26th. Baldelli with the announcement after a 3-2 Spring Training loss to the Atlanta Braves by Berrios. This will be Jose’s second career Opening Day start dating back to last year’s 2-0 win over Cleveland. Berrios went 7.2 IP giving up 2 hits, 1 walk, and striking out 10. Taylor Rogers got the save in 1.1 IP striking out 3.

Berrios finished his 2019 All Star season 14-8 with a 3.68 ERA, 200.1 IP, and 195 strikeouts in 32 games.
