The Philadelphia Eagles are widely regarded to have the best offensive line in the NFL. The line features Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Jason Kelce, Isaac Seumalo and Lane Johnson. They are coached by Jeff Stoutland, the best o-line coach in football.
The left side of the offensive line is manned by a imposing pair of players in Jordan Mailata and Landon Dickerson. Together, Mailata and Dickerson total 697 pounds and they moved opposing defensive linemen at will last season. Offensive lines need to work together as a cohesive unit to be effective. Mailata is the left tackle and Dickerson is the left guard and they worked together in perfect symmetry. They are both big, strong and tough maulers.
Jordan Mailata was a 7th round pick. He was a project. He never played football before. His athleticism and imposing size and strength was intriguing to the Eagles. He was Jeff Stoutland’s personal project and he has now developed into one of the best offensive tackles in the NFL.
Landon Dickerson was a 2nd round pick, who if not for being injured, would have probably been a 1st round pick. He was the starting center for Alabama. He had versatility coming out of college with the ability to play center or guard. He took over for the injured Seumalo last year and claimed the position as his own. Seumalo has now moved to right guard.
Jordan Mailata and Landon Dickerson form a dominant wall on the left side of the Eagles o-line and this bodes well for the Eagles franchise.
