John Cena Announces Book Release Date For WWE WrestleMania 37 Week

Written by jwatry

You will be seeing a lot of John Cena very soon.

No, I am not talking about his busy filming schedule. I’m sure the Suicide Squad sequel will be great. I’m sure the Fast And The Furious movie release will make a boatload of money for everybody involved. However, all of that is in due time. What we are focusing on is the next couple of weeks ahead.

There is one announcement. You see, if you follow Cena or Twitter (I don’t) or even vaguely read his tweet, you know what to expect. He hands out a lot of uplifting, positive and inspirational messages. It’s actually kinda cool. He doesn’t get wrapped up in any social media drama, doesn’t talk about his private life and is pretty much invisible (ha!) on all that crap that comes with a Twitter account.

Cena posts inspirational quotes, more inspirational quotes, and then a couple more inspirational quotes. It’s his ‘thing.’

Well, smart man because he is now cashing in on that concept. Gimmick or not, his self help book “Be A Work In Progress And Other Things I’d Like To Tell My Younger Self” officially has a release date: April 6th, 2021. As noted in the tweet, he is taking his Twitter posts to a book. Smart man and nothing new from Cena, as he already has a best selling book on his resume. Just further evidence that there isn’t anything Cena CAN’T do, which leads us to…

…a professional wrestling return.

Yes indeed, you notice that April 6th date? It is mere days away from that weekend’s WrestleMania 37. Since his debut, Cena has either appeared on or wrestled at every single WrestleMania event. Last year was the cinematic bout versus The Fiend. The year before that was a little rap battle with Elias, and in 2018, he wrestled The Undertaker which he was on TV for in the weeks/months before to hype up. The last two years have been pretty much one-offs without much build. The prior decade plus has certainly seen him around for the hype, long before his Hollywood career took off. This year, I suspect his streak will continue despite his now busy schedule and show up for the annual spectacle, WrestleMania 37.

According to WrestleVotes, Cena is nearly a lock for the event. No idea who his opponent would be or if he is even wrestling. In my opinion, I think we get Cena sooner than that. With the Royal Rumble pay-per-view this Sunday, would anybody be shocked if the legend returned then? Whether in the actual 30 man Rumble or elsewhere, this is the event when “the road” to WrestleMania officially kicks into high gear. I am not outright predicting a Cena appearance this Sunday, but I am certainly going to keep one eye open for it.

A big WrestleMania program, culminating with a match and a book release in April? Now that I can see!
