Joe Bohringer was promoted to Assistant GM of the Seattle Mariners in February 2019, and despite his input, the team still isn’t very successful having gone 27-33 in 2020.

It’s noted that Bohringer will stay on until the new year to help with a new hire. Prior to being the assistant to Jerry DiPoto in title, he was a special assistant to DiPoto for three seasons. Bohringer has spent over three decades in baseball, including front office positions with the Yankees, Dodgers, Cubs, Pirates and Diamondbacks.

It’s noted that his resignation is him wanting to retire, not to leave and go elsewhere.
