Joe Biden Comments On Gas Price Surges: “I want to limit the pain the American people are feeling at the gas pump”

Written by Chris Powers

Two weeks ago, President Joe Biden commented that he wanted to protect the American people from surging gas prices across the country. While prices were already increasing, things got even worse once the Russian/Ukrainian conflict began. Biden stayed the following on surging gas prices:

“I want to limit the pain the American people are feeling at the gas pump. This is critical to me,” Biden said.

Unfortunately in the past two weeks, Biden has done little to nothing to lessen the impact on Americans wallet at the pump. The national average cost per gallon is nearly $4.00 right now, and analysts predict that the national average cost will be $4.25 by Memorial Day unless changes are made very soon.

In a video that has since gone viral in recent days, an old clip of former President Donald Trump has resurfaced where he is seen on the campaign trail stating that if Biden were to get into office, the American people would see a surge in gas prices, potentially up to $7.00 a gallon.

While it is not a long term solution, Biden could easily impose a gas tax cut that would eliminate roughly 18-20 cents per gallon for the foreseeable future, but for whatever reason he has yet to follow up on his promise from two weeks ago that he planned on reducing costs at the pump.

Below you will find recent tweets regarding Biden and his inability to control gas prices in the United States.
