Jesse Winker – MVP Candidate

The Cincinnati Reds have had an up and down season so far to say the least. After a 6-1 start to the season, the Reds are currently sitting at 20-23, 4th in the NL Central. One consistent bright spot has been Jesse Winker. Winker is an easy All-Star this year in the N.L., hitting .356, currently 2nd in all of baseball. He’s also batting a 1.081 OPS, 3rd in all of baseball. Winker is coming off a 3 home-run night against Milwaukee where he heard MVP chants as he rounded the bases.

If the Reds are going to make any sort of dent in the Central, especially after the Brewers acquiring of Willy Adames, they’re going to need more out of players like Eugenio Suarez. Cincinnati is only 4.5 games back of the lead and Winker having a scorching hot 3 homer night could give them the spark they need
