“Guess what gang, It is time to jump on the Jess Lockwood bandwagon… He has an opportunity to be the best the PBR has ever seen” Brandon Bates and Clint Adkins expressed with much excitement in their voice over the broadcast following Jess Lockwood’s 90-point ride on Chad Berger Bucking Bull, Biker Bob which rocketed the previously 3rd ranked athlete to 1st.
Watch that incredible ride that locked in the victory this weekend:
Only two weeks ago, Chase Outlaw stunned the world with his heroic slide into 1st place following his win in Cheyenne 365 days after a dangerous headbutt that resulted in 12 hours of reconstructive surgery to his face. While Outlaw’s story is a story that will passed down forever in the PBR as all-time performances, the headlines now focus on the former 2017 World Champion, Jess Lockwood.
Volborg, Montana’s very own Jess Lockwood’s went a perfect 3-for-3 at this weekend at the Unleash the Beast in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He rode Uncle Gangster for 88.5 points day one, Stunt Man Ray for 88 points on day two and an astonishing 90 point ride on Biker Bob in the championship round which secured the win.
Jess Lockwood sits at 1st but Chase Outlaw and Jose Vitor Leme are separated by only 163.34 points. Lockwood goes home with a $38,050 check but with a race this tight, you have to imagine he is not feeling comfortable moving forward.
Coming up August 17-18 is the next PBR Unleash the Beast in Houston and will mean a lot to the many riders still in the race. You can catch that event and all the rest of the season by subscribing to RidePass (www.RidePass.com) because you do not want to miss it this final push of the 2019 season.
