The Los Angeles Dodgers and JD Martinez have reportedly come to terms on a 1-year, $10 million contract, as per Jeff Passan. Martinez will provide plenty of offense and can play the outfield or DH.
JD Martinez is the first significant offensive upgrade the Dodgers have made in free agency this offseason. He hit .274 with 16 home runs and 62 RBIs in 139 games for the Boston Red Sox last season.
Martinez excels at driving the ball to all parts of the field and should fare well in the middle of the Dodgers batting order. The 5-time All-Star will likely be utilized as the DH.
