Jason Pierre-Paul to visit the Baltimore Ravens

Jason Pierre-Paul, Also known as ‘JPP’, 33, visited the Baltimore Ravens today, June 9th, 2022, according to multiple league reports. Paul played college football at South Florida and was drafted by the New York Giants in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. After spending his first eight seasons with the New York Giants and being placed on the franchise tag twice, the team signed Pierre-Paul to a four-year, $62 million contract with $40 million guaranteed.

The Giants traded JPP to the Buccaneers in 2018 where he led the team with 12.5 sacks. He went on to play out the 2019 season and then signed a two year, $27m contract extension with the Bucs on March 17th of 2020. He now remains a free agent but was set to visit with the Baltimore Ravens, who look to have a stout defense.

After moving on from defensive coordinator Don Martindale, the Ravens had a very impressive and aggressive 2022 NFL draft and look to be a tough and physical defense with new DC Mike Macdonald. It remains interesting that JPP has not had a hotter free agency market with his impressive 91.5 career sacks. Though, at age 33 it does make sense that teams stray away as he is not in the prime of his career anymore.
