Jaguars Signed Record Setting CFL QB

Written by Tony Ghaul

Fresh off of one of the wildest comebacks in NFL history, the Jacksonville Jaguars have signed an interesting name to their quarterback room.

The Jaguars have signed Record Setting Canadian Football League QB Nathan Rourke, as per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Rourke set CFL records with the British Columbia Lions last season. He threw for 3,349 yards with 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Rourke’s 78.7% completion percentage was the best ever in CFL history. His 123.6 rating was the second best in the history of the league.

Rourke was named the league’s Most Outstanding Canadian, which is awarded to the best Canadian player in the CFL. He joined the CFL after playing three years of college football at Ohio.

The Jaguars have been looking for a strong back-up for starting QB Trevor Lawrence. The other QBs on the roster are E.J. Perry and C.J. Beathard. Perry has yet to appear in an NFL game. Beathard has started 12 games over his five-year NFL career.
