Instagram model Kaylen Ward had done a good deed as she raised at least $500,000 towards the relief for the wildfires over in Australia.
Under her recent Twitter name, ‘The Naked Philanthropist,’ she had raised that money by sending nudes of herself to anyone who donates $10 to any of the listed fundraisers in her pinned tweet.
“I tried to see if I could get some of my loyal followers to raise some money,” Ward explained. “I maybe expected to get maybe a few thousand in donations from my followers.”
According to the Washington Post, Ward was able to donate money towards numerous charities such as the Australian Red Cross, Koalas in Care and the Australian Lions Foundation.
Although there was a huge response to her tweet, Instagram shut down three of her accounts for violating the sexually suggestive dialogue/content guidelines. There was also a few people that made up fake accounts of Ward, which gained thousands of followers at the time.
Along with Ward reaching out to followers for charitable donations, celebrities such as P!nk and tennis player Maria Sharapova are donating thousands of dollars to help out the continent.
Ward, who has started and added nude modeling to her portfolio, said she encourages people to keep donating, but she won’t be giving nudes out due to the ever-growing list of requests.
“I won’t delete the original [pinned] tweet, and regardless if people get a photo or not, I’d like them to keep donating,” Ward said.
