Impact Wrestling results on AXS TV from Nashville, Tennessee, USA šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø on 6/9/20 taped several days ago:

Impact co-Executive Vice Presidents Scott Dā€™Amore and Don Callis were shown in a room looking frustrated as they debated with each other. You couldnā€™t hear what they were saying but Josh Mathews said they were discussing the status of the Impact World Title situation. Impact World Champion Tessa Blanchard hasnā€™t been able to travel to defend it with the virus pandemic.

Michael Elgin won a 3-Way Match over Ken Shamrock and Sami Callihan by pinning Shamrock after the Elgin Bomb. The finish came as he shoved Callihan into Shamrock up against an exposed turnbuckle and then sent Callihan flying out of the ring after a back fist. After the match, Elgin left to the back. Callihan teased being friendly to Shamrock but ā€œhackedā€ the lights to turn them off. When they came back on he was gone from the ring.

Mathews and Madison Rayne ran down the card for tonight. The main event will be Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace vs. Taya Valkyrie.

Grace did an interview with Gia Miller backstage. She said Impact is home and she was frustrated being away for six weeks (because of the pandemic). She said all she did in her time off was study and train. She said sheā€™s looking for some normalcy and she might get a bit of it after she beats Valkyrie.

Wentz, Dez, and Trey were shown backstage. They complained to each other about being #1 contenders to the Tag Team Titles and World Title but they couldnā€™t get the job done to win. Trey wanted to know who jumped him last week and left him laying. Wentz and Dez tried to blame Ace Austin and Reno Scum. Tag Team Champions The North walked up and told Dez and Wentz they get their title shot next week. Dez and Wentz then tried to then blame The North for attacking Trey. The North said they just got back from being stuck in Canada and suggested Wentz or Dez turned on Trey. Wentz and Trey swore that they would never do anything like that. They both awkwardly made up excuses to leave the room for Trey to be by himself.

Tasha Steelz pinned Susie after cutter after Kiera Hogan got on the ring to cause a distraction.

Miller did an interview with Ace Austin backstage. She asked him if he knew what the World Title announcement tonight would be. He said he would be named the new champion since he won the #1 con. tournament last week and Blanchard doesnā€™t show up to work. Moose walked up and once again tried to convince him to face him for the TNA World Title. Austin tried to politely, but sternly, blow him off by saying ā€œitā€™s a nice belt, thatā€™s itā€ and walked away. Hernandez then showed up and challenged Moose to a match next week.

Cameras showed a car pulling up to the venue. Mathews said it was Deonna Purrazzo who will make her debut tonight.

They showed the Slammiversary ad from last week with clips of Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, EC3 and others. The pay-per-view takes place on July 18.

Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan were celebrating Steelzā€™s win backstage. Hogan was talking trash out loud ready to take on anyone else. They bumped into Havok and Nevaeh who heard what she was saying. Nevaeh challenged them to a tag match and Havok wondered if they were scared. Hogan made up an excuse that Steelz just wrestled and she personally wasnā€™t ready. She insisted that they werenā€™t scared, but they were, as they backed off and left the room.

Rohit Raju confronted Rhino backstage and wanted to know why he gave him a gore last week for no reason. He wondered if it was some kind of an ā€œold schoolā€ lesson. He said those days are gone and Rhino should be trying to lift him up and consider being a tag team partner. Rhino said that he has a tag team partner and his partner ā€has kidsā€. He smiled to the camera as an obvious reference to Heath Slater. He told Raju that it was a lesson because heā€™s tired of him always whining and complaining. He warned him to go away or heā€™d give him another gore. As soon as he turned his back, Raju attacked him from behind but he was able to fight him off out of camera view.

Grace was warming up for the main event.

Taya Valkyrie was shown backstage looking for John E. Bravo.

Willie Mack and Cousin Jake beat Chris Bey and Johnny Swinger when Mack pinned Swinger after reversing a swinging neck breaker into a stunner. Bey and Swinger attacked them from behind after the match but Cody Deaner ran out to make the save. Deaner and Jake rushed to hug each other, because they have seen each other in weeks due to the virus, but they stopped short at the last second to social distance.

Rosemary and John E. Bravo were shown in the bar continuing to get friendly with each other. She once again tried to convince him to join her and take a bite of the apple. Before he could bite it, Valkyrie walked up and grabbed the apple. She nagged at him to help get her ready for the main event. She gave Rosemary one of the new Impact action figures. Rosemary was mad at her for being gone for so many weeks but said she would be in her corner tonight with Bravo.

Scott Dā€™Amore was in the ring and said he has a responsibility to Impact, the fans and the Impact World Title. He said Tessa Blanchard was still not in the building and was going to give the update on the title situation but Ace Austin interrupted. Austin assumed Dā€™Amore was going to declare him the champion. Michael Elgin came out and said Austin would have to go through him first before he gets the title. Eddie Edwards was out and told Elgin and Austin that everyone has to earn a title in Impact and they canā€™t just ask for it. Austin demanded that Dā€™Amore bring out the title and declare him champion. He made fun of Dā€™Amoreā€™s weight. Dā€™Amore got heated and said the announcement is Impact World Champion Tessa Blanchard will be defending the title on July 18 in a 5-way Match against Austin, Elgin, and Edwards. Austin said the math was off because that was only four names. Dā€™Amore told him to turn around and see who the fifth person was. Trey exploded into the ring with a springboard drop kick on Austin and it lead to a brawl among the four out of five set to be in the ppv title match.

Gia Miller was backstage in front of Deonna Purrazzoā€™s locker room. She knocked on the door hoping to get an interview but there was no answer. She said it wasnā€™t appropriate to look inside the door, but she did it anyway, because Purrazzoā€™s arrival was a big story to her. Nobody was in the room.

Joey Ryan came out to the ring with RVD, Katie Forbes and Jake Crist. He cut a promo to formally introduce Jacob Crist as the newest member of Cancel Culture.

Jake Crist pinned Crazzy Steve after three rapid fire kicks after a distraction by Ryan.

Rhino will face Raju next week and Eddie Edwards takes on Ace Austin in Street Fight.

Impact World Champion Jordynne Grace submitted Taya Valkyrie with a choke sleeper hold. Bravo and Rosemary were at ringside, but they were too busy flirting with each other and they didnā€™t care to help out Valkyrie in the match.

Deonna Purrazzo came out after the match with an arrogant look and body language. She offered to shake hands with Grace, but grabbed Grace into the arm bar. Grace was down in pain on the mat as Purrazzo arrogantly stood over her and the Knockouts Title.

After the end credits, Michael Elgin was shown talking on his cell phone to a mystery person.
