If The Panthers Get Their Way, Watson Will Be QB1

Just two seasons ago, Deshaun Watson was in the running for MVP. He missed all of last season because of his legal troubles. Now, a few loose ends need to be tied up, but it looks likely that he will be playing football once again next year!

Aaron Wilson with Pro Football Network reported earlier today that the Carolina Panthers are “all in” on a trade with the Texans for their star quarterback. However, up to ten teams are closely watching the outcome of the pending investigation against him.

In particular, the Carolina Panthers are seriously engaged in wanting to trade for the three-time Pro Bowl selection, with one source characterizing their level of interest as all-in,’”

It is difficult to gauge what his trade value would be, seeing that he missed an entire year but was once one of the best in the NFL. If it cost the Broncos a few players, two first rounders, two second rounders and a fifth round pick, one could assume that he would warrant somewhere between that and the haul Indianapolis received from the Commanders for Carson Wentz. Washington gave up a second round pick and a conditional second/third round pick.

If Watson joined the Panthers, he would partner with CMC, DJ Moore, and Tommy Tremble; not a bad offense to work with! However, many teams will likely be seeking the talents of this signal-caller.
