Two huge South Florida high school football programs battled it out tonight and the Miami Northwestern Bulls defeated the Palmetto Panthers 17-7. I didn’t have a dog in the fight, but there were a lot of UMiami commits playing for both sides and they all balled out. WR commit Romello Brinson torched UF “DBU” commit multiple times. His route running is so crisp, which we could we desperately need with the current Hurricanes WR room.

I saw at least 3 routes where Brinson got great separation from Marshall, who is the #1 ranked 2021 cornerback recruit according to ESPN, and #3 on 247. On the other side of the ball, Miami cornerback recruit Tim Burns had a nice interception:

Canes safety commit Kamren Kitchens also flashed some speed:

For the Canes commits from Palmetto, DT Leonard Taylor had himself a game with 4 tackles for losses. He is currently the #1 ranked DT on 247 and #2 on ESPN:

Canes WR commit Brashard Smith for Palmetto also showed off his route running skills, and was on the same play as the Burns INT but on the other side of the field:

Can’t wait to see Smith and Brinson balling out in the orange and green. Two other Canes commits, TE Khalil Brantley for MNW & DT Savion Collins for Palmetto, were also playing. The future is bright for the Miami Hurricanes, as this might be the best recruiting class in over a decade. Go Canes and be sure to check out the new episode of 5P.M. @ Monty’s, which will be dropping before the game tomorrow!
