The Houston Astros are trying to hang onto their pending free agent shortstop.

Carlos Correa is considered the main prize, or one of, the main prizes of the free agent market, and the Astros are trying to keep him from leaving, as they have made him an offer.

While Correa has received an offer that would pay him $32 million a season until he’s 32, most know that Correa is likely not accepting that offer.

It’s the second offer that Houston has made to Correa; the first one was turned down last winter.

The former Rookie of the Year is coming off his best season in the majors, hitting .279 with 26 home runs and 92 RBI in 148 games for the American League Champions.

Correa is one of three shortstops who are set to hit free agency, as Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop and former World Series MVP Kyle Seager and Colorado Rockies All Star shortstop Trevor Story are also free agents too and likely going to command big money on the open market.
