High school football teammates A.J. Brown and Willie Gay will be facing off in Super Bowl LVII.

Brown’s Philadelphia Eagles and Gay’s Kansas City Chiefs wil battle for the Lombardi Trophy. Both attended Starkville High School and won the 2015 6A State Championship, which was Brown’s senior year and Gay’s junior season.

The Philadelphia Eagles acquired Brown in a trade with the Tennessee Titans on draft day. He had a huge season, earning his second Pro Bowl nod by setting career highs in receptions (88) and receiving yards (1,496), while matching his career high in receiving touchdowns (11).

Gay has played all three seasons of his NFL career with the Chiefs and posted high marks in combined tackles (88), passes defended (eight), quarterback hits (four) and sacks (2.5) this year.

This just another interesting storyline for this Super Bowl.
