As the Guardians roll into Minnesota for a three game series with the A.L. Central leader, Minnesota Twins, here are some notes about the upcoming series:
The Guardians have won 6 series in a row. The Guardians will find out today, if Ramirez will need more time to recover from his thumb injury. The Guardians are also looking to get Reyes back from AAA-Columbus, since he was DFA there in May. As far as pitching goes, Tuesday’s starter has not been announced yet, but McKenzie will throw Wednesday and Plesac on Thursday. The Guardians head into Minnesota just 1 game back of the Twins, for the A.L. Central lead, so when the Guardians leave Minnesota, they should definitely be on top of the division. The Guardians have played so well in the month of June, that it’s almost certain the Guardians will be in the new official Top 10 MLB Power Rankings. After the Guardians play the Twins in Minnesota, they come home to play the Red Sox for three, then the Twins come to Cleveland for five games. After the Red Sox and Twins at home, then the Yankees come to Cleveland for three games, so the Guardians have a nice, but certainly tough, home-stand coming up. We’ll get to really see what this young, talented Guardians team can do!
