Henry Cejudo is Coming Back at the Perfect Time

In recent days its come out that former UFC double champ Henry Cejudo has re-entered the USADA testing pool with the intention of challenging Alexander Volkanovski for his featherweight title. I think this is perfect timing for the UFC and fight fans alike.

If you look at the featherweight division, there’s really no competition at the moment. The trilogy fight with Max Holloway’s always gonna be there, but until he’s back no fight at featherweight is that exciting for now. Now, I would love to see a potential move up to lightweight, but that division’s pretty jammed up at the top right now. So, it’s kind of the perfect time for a guy to come out of retirement and fight for a belt, right?

Imagine the potential run for Volk. You beat an all-time great and former double champ attempting to be a triple champ. Then, you go up to lightweight and become a double champ yourself. And finally, you go back down to 145, beat Max for a third time cementing yourself as one of the best, if not the best fighter in the history of the UFC.

And for Henry, you’re arguably the greatest ever yourself if you pull this one off. You come off a two-year retirement, beat the best pound-for-pound fighter in the sport, and become the first triple champ ever. This fight would be historical! Make it happen, Dana!
