Written by Tony Ghaul

The Cleveland Guardians had to deal with hotel issues after Monday night’s Game 5 of the AL Division Series with the Yankees in the Bronx was postponed due to weather.

The hotel that the Guardians were staying at prior to Game 5 was overbooked when the team sought shelter there after the postponement, as per ESPN. The Guardians checked out of their hotel ahead of the decisive Game 5. They were not expecting to stay in New York another night.

After MLB announced the postponement, Guardians players and coaches reportedly split up their stay around New York.

Guardians players and coaches reportedly wound up staying in Yonkers, while team officials spent the night in Midtown.

MLB made the announcement to postpone the game just after 9:30 p.m. ET on Monday. Game 5 now will be played Tuesday at 4:07 p.m. ET at Yankee Stadium.
