The girlfriend of deceased college football star Spencer Webb, has given birth to their baby boy months after his death.
Webb played tight end for the Oregon Ducks between 2018-2022. He died on July 13 last year when he hit his head during a cliff-diving accident in Oregon.
No foul play was suspected and his death was ruled a misadventure by the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, which noted that the efforts of bystanders and first responders were futile.
It’s unfortunate that was not able to witness the birth of his son, who was revealed by Kelly Kay on Thursday, draped in an Oregon Ducks blanket. The newborn came a week before Spencer’s would-be birthday on April 7.
Kay named her son after the boy’s father, Oregon’s Spencer “Spider” Webb. One of Webb’s Oregon jerseys was also in the hospital room.
