Georgia has some of the best jerseys in college football. The red tops, with the black G, and silver britches have always looked amazing. This year the Dawgs will look a little different.
Ah, these jerseys are SEXY. The white ones are to celebrate the 40th anniversary of UGA’s last national championship in 1980, similar to the uniforms the team wore that season. We have seen the dawgs wear the black jerseys before, first in 2007 vs Auburn. The last time we saw the black jerseys was in 2016 in Kirby Smart’s first year as a coach vs Louisiana-Lafayette. Before that game, the last time we saw those jerseys was in 2008 in a loss to Alabama. Many Georgia fans deemed them as bad luck after that game for a while. But the fans have been begging for UGA to bring them back these past few years. These black jerseys are a little different, with the dog collar near the neck. Overall, these jerseys are amazing and it seems as if they are a big hit with the players.
This jersey unveil has all dawgs fans even more excited for next saturday when UGA will travel to Arkansas for the season opener. If you can’t wait until then, just revisit the first time Georgia wore those gorgeous black jerseys.
