Former Washington Football Team Player Found Dead

Written by Chris Powers

2021 has been without question the worst year for professional athletes. It seems that this has been a record year for athletes passing away, whether it be the NFL, NBA, MLB or NHL.

This time, tragedy has struck the Washington Football Team. It was announced just a little while ago that former Washington Football Team and then Washington Redskins player and offensive guard Ron Saul has passed away.

Ron Saul was selected in the fifth round (No. 110 overall) of the 1970 NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers and went on to play six seasons in Houston (1970-75) and six with Washington (1976-81).

In other NFL news, former Hall of Fame cornerback for the Washington Football Team discussed his thoughts on the impending name change in Washington. See what he had to say below.

“People are getting concerned about the name and I think this, I think if they go 14-2 like we did my rookie year, you can call me Meatballs,” Green said on 106.7 The Fan’s Grant & Danny

“Right now, this is what’s hot today. But trust me, if they land the name and somebody don’t like it and we’re 14-2, they’ll get on board,” Green said.

“Personally, Washington Football Team, you can have that one,” Green said.

“Give us a name, give us something decent and let’s roll,” Green said. “Let’s roll baby.”
