Hall of Fame punter Ray Guy died this morning at 72, following a lengthy illness. He’s considered the greatest punter of all time.
Guy was a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and a member of the NFL’s 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. He averaged 42.4 yards over his career from 1973 to 1986. Guy was the first punter drafted in the first round when chosen by the Raiders in the 1973 NFL draft.

Guy’s selection at such a high pick was worth it for the Raiders considering all he accomplished throughout his career. He spent his entire 14 year career with what was then the Oakland and Los Angeles Raiders.
