Former Purdue Boilermakers Star, NBA Player Caleb Swanigan Passes Away at Age 25

Written by Nate

Some sad news to report out this morning as former basketball star for the Purdue Boilermakers, Caleb Swanigan, has passed away Monday night at the age of 25. The cause of death was deemed to be natural causes.

Before his brief stints with the NBA’s Portland Trailblazers and Sacramaneto Kings, Swanigan played three seasons with the Purdue Boilermakers (2015-17). In 2017, he earned First-Team Big Ten and All-American honors, along with being named Big Ten Player of the Year in the same season.

The former 2017 first-round pick finished his Boilermakers hoops career with 14.4 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Swanigan’s family and friends at this time.
