Former Phillies Star Gets Walk-Off Hit For The Savannah Bananas

Written by Tony Ghaul

Former Philadelphia Phillies star Shane Victorino made a guest appearance with the viral sensation Savannah Bananas during the team’s recent tour stop in Las Vegas.

The Flyin’ Hawaiian came up to the plate to the tune of “Three Little Birds” in a “walk-off” situation and lined the first pitch he saw into left field to give the Bananas win.

Victorino said that this is the first time that he had seen live pitching since 2016.

The Bananas are a baseball circus act that travel the country to play gimmicky exhibitions. Part of the appeal for fans is a chance to see a former big league star suit up.

From 2016-2022, they played games in the Coastal Plain League, winning championships in 2016, 2021 and 2022. They recently left the league entirely to focus on their own fun brand of baseball called “Banana Ball.”
