Former MLB outfielder Mike Young who spent time with the Philadelphia Phillies has died. He was 63. No cause of death was reported.
Young broke into the Major Leagues with the Orioles in 1982 and he played with them through the 1987 season.
Young’s best season came in 1985 when he hit .273 with 28 home runs and 81 RBIs. Young has the unique distinction of being just one of five players to have two extra-inning homer runs in one game.
Young played in 75 games for the Phillies in 1988. He also spent time with the Milwaukee Brewers and Cleveland Indians before closing out his career with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp in 1990.
Young finished his Major League run with a .247 average to go with 72 home runs and 235 RBIs.
