Former Philadelphia Phillies Manager Gabe Kapler was hired by the Miami Marlins as assistant General Manager, as per Bob Nightengale.

Kapler was fired as Manager of the San Francisco Giants in September of this year. He was hired in November of 2019.

Kapler was Manager of the Phillies in 2018 and 2019. He won the NL Manager of the Year Award in 2021, managing the Giants to 107 wins.

Kapler played 12 seasons in the MLB. He had a .268 career batting average and hit 82 home runs.
