Former Phillies Manager Has Passed Away

Former Philadelphia Phillies Manager Pat Corrales has passed away at the age of 82, as per USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.

Corrales also played for the Phillies. He made his Major League debut as a catcher with the Phillies in 1964.

Corrales played for the Phillies through 1965, and then he played with the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds and San Diego Padres where he finished his playing career in 1973.

Corrales managed the Phillies in 1982 and into the 1983 season. He led the Phillies to an 89-73 record in 1982 and a 43-42 in 1983 before he was fired.

He was the Manager of the Cleveland Indians for four seasons and has a World Series ring as a coach with the 1995 Atlanta Braves.
