In their recent Facebook post, the Northern Ishpeming Community Education (NICE) Schools in Westwood have hired a couple new additions to their athletics staff. One of the new hires turns out to be a former player for the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers.
As the Patriots brought in Jake Skewis as their new athletic director, Westwood schools have also hired NMU Wildcat wide receiver and alumnus Marcus Tucker II as their new head football coach.
Before returning to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, the Flint native spent three years playing professional football in both the United States and in Canada as a wide receiver.
In his Wildcat career, Tucker caught 168 passes for over 2,300 yards and 20 touchdowns plus one two-point conversion.
We wish Tucker the best of luck in his head coaching experience over at the NICE Community Schools this season. Hopefully he can turn it into a good career over at Westwood.
HERE ARE SOME BRIEF CLIPS OF TUCKER’S FOOTBALL CAREER AS A PLAYER:
