Back in December, former Patriots star Willie McGinest was arrested for assault of a manat a restaurant in Los Angeles.

McGinest has now been charged with two felonies, according to TMZ Sports. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office reportedly filed the charges this week.

The former Patriots star is charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of assault by means of force likely to cause great bodily injury.

Both charges carry up to four years in prison. His arraignment in the case has been set for April.

McGinest punched  a man in the face before he picked up a bottle and smashed it into the man’s head. He was booked into jail and later posted the $30,000 bond.

The fight, involving McGinest and several other unidentified men, was later broken up and McGinest could be seen discarding the bottle and walking away.

McGinest spent the most of his 15-year career in New England, earning two Pro Bowl selections and three Super Bowl championships.

McGinest was a analyst on NFL Network and has since been suspended from his role, pending an investigation. He has not returned to the network.
