Former Philadelphia Eagles running back Dion Lewis was arrested Monday in Florida and faces a misdemeanor charge of trespassing, as per multiple reports.
Lewis was reportedly taken into custody at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa after police say he was “unruly and belligerent.” As per a Bleacher Report article, Seminole Police said that Lewis was “causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the premises.”
The 32 year-old Lewis was a fifth-round draft pick by the Eagles in 2011. He played for them through the 2012 season.
Lewis also played for the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans and New York Giants before announcing his retirement in 2021 after 10 seasons. He was a member of the Patriots Super Bowl LI winning team.
For his career, Lewis rushed for 2,425 yards and caught 191 passes for 1,408 yards. He scored 21 touchdowns.
Lewis joined the coaching staff at Albany in 2023 as the program’s assistant running backs coach.
