Things got very chippy in a lopsided 2023 NFC Championship Game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia 49ers.
On third down in the fourth quarter after a running play, a scrum ensued between the 49ers offense and Eagles defenders.
The scrum would eventually get heated after San Francisco offensive tackle Trent Williams grabbed the jersey of Eagles defensive back K’Von Wallace and threw him down on to the grass turf.
The scrum gotten so bad that players from both teams and sidelines would rush the field before officials intervened.
Once everything settled down, both Williams and Wallace were ejected from the game before the Eagles wrapped up a 31-7 win over the 49ers.
Even with this fight, it’s not the first time that Williams got involved in a scuffle in the playoffs. He and former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman got physical in the postgame of their 2012 NFC Wild Card Game.
This loss will be bad for the 49ers, but it’s gonna feel worse for the Williams once the league fines or suspends him.
