Heinicke made 15 starts in 2021, and went 7-8 as Washington missed the playoffs. In 2020, he started their playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Over the past two seasons, Heinicke completed 64.0 percent of his passes for 5,278 yards with 32 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.
