Deion Jones will miss the off-season workout program because of a shoulder surgery. Jones, 27, played college football at LSU, and was selected in the second round with the 52nd overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

On July 17, 2019, Jones signed a four-year, $57 million contract extension with the Falcons with $34 million guaranteed. Jones has started 83 out of the possible 85 games he’s been active for and has been the key piece to the Falcons defense since his rookie season. He recorded 11 pass deflections as a rookie and it still stands as a career high. Heading into his seventh season in the NFL and still being only 27 years old, Jones is one of the best linebackers in the NFL. There’s already been speculation that he’s not going to be on the Falcons after the 2022 season.

With 652 career tackles, 8.5 sacks, 44 pass deflections, and 11 career interceptions, Jones continues to be one of the most dominant and best tacklers in the league.
