It is time to put some respect on Zach LaVine’s name. The geniuses over at ESPN apparently believe that; Christian Wood, Lonzo Ball, Jusuf Nurkic, Deandre Ayton, Michael Porter, and fifty other players are better than Zach LaVine according to ESPNs ranking of 100 NBA players.
This makes absolutely zero sense, Zach LaVine is a number one option on the Bulls and last season he might of had a break out season that established himself in the league as one of the emerging stars. Last year he average 25.5 ppg, 2.8 rebs, and 4.2 asts and in 2018 he averaged 23.7 ppg, 4.7 rebs, and 4.5 asts. Last season was not a fulke and the fact that people are not giving LaVine his credit is terrible.
Don’t get me wrong I love Lonzo but there is no way he is better than Zach right now at their points of their careers. LaVine arguably is leading a young rebuilding team and with a little more help they could be looking to make a playoff push this season. Lists like this are the reason for ESPN losing their credibility and viewership. I just do not understand how there are that many players in front of LaVine. Also on that list John Wall is 81st and Tyler Herro who has one NBA season under his belt ranks 59th , there is no way you can justify that ranking to me I know John tore his ACL but he is a multiply time all-star and Herro is a third option on his team.
What a joke, I am sure that the rest of the list will be just as entertaining. I am just excited the NBA season is right around the corner! Will definitely be an exciting time and lets see if LaVine uses this as fuel or if he just is focused on helping his team win. Should be an exciting NBA season!
