Eighth Grader Threw For 5 Touchdowns And Led His Team To A Win In State Championship Game

For much of the 2022 season, the Thompson Warriors struggled to move the football consistently on offense. Putting 8th grade quarterback Trent Seaborn into the lineup sparked the team with a run into the playoffs and that continued on Wednesday night in the 7A title game against Auburn High at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Seaborn completed 12 of 14 passes through three quarters, and threw for 207 yards and a 7A Super7 record five touchdowns with four going to WR Korbyn Williams as Thompson won a fourth straight title with a 49-24 win.

Seaborn already has three offers from Northern Colorado, Troy and Maryland. He can expect to add to that total following his performance on Wednesday night.

Seaborn finished his eighth-grade year with 1,181 passing yards and 14 touchdown passes. He completed 71.4 percent of his attempts. In four playoff games he completed 75 percent of his attempts for 657 yards and nine touchdowns.
