The Philadelphia Eagles are acquiring RB De’Andre Swift in a trade with the Detroit Lions, as per Tom Pelissero.
The Eagles send the Lions a 2025 fourth-round pick and additional draft pick compensation for Swift.
Swift is a former second-round pick by the Lions. He is a talented dual-thread running back, but has struggled to stay healthy during his three seasons in Detroit.
Swift had 1,680 yards and 18 TDs on 364 carries in three years with the Lions. He also added 1,198 receiving yards and seven additional scores on 156 catches.
The 24-year-old Swift enters the final year of his rookie contract set to earn $1.774 million in base salary.
The trade is a homecoming for Swift, who is from Philadelphia and went to high school at St. Joseph’s Prep before attending college at Georgia.
Swift joins an Eagles backfield that has, Rashaad Penny, Kenneth Gainwell, Boston Scott and Trey Sermon.
