The Philadelphia Eagles face the Kansas City Chiefs in a Super Bowl rematch on Monday night, and for the first time this season the best five secondary player should be the on the field together.
That group consists of: Darius Slay and James Bradberry at outside corner, Bradley Roby in the slot and Reed Blankenship and Kevin Byard at safety.
The Eagles sit at 8-1 on the season, but the one are of concern is the pass defense. It has been one of the worst in the NFL this season.
Injuries to the secondary have contributed to the pass defense struggling. Slot corner in particular, has been a problem.
Starting slot corner Avonte Maddox is out for the season due to injury. The Eagles have struggled to fill that spot.
The Eagles signed Bradley Roby in October to play slot corner. Roby was only able to play 55 snaps against the Rams and Jets before going on IR (but had an outstanding 45.8 passer rating against in those two games).
The hope is that Roby can shoulder the load and that James Bradberry can rebound from a lackluster start to the season.
