Philadelphia Eagles RB D’Andre Swift has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after his 175 yards rushing on 28 carries and a touchdown performance in their 34-28 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Swift’s 175 yards was the biggest rushing performance for the Eagles since LeSean McCoy in 2013.
Swift got the start due to Week 1 starter Kenneth Gainwell being out with a rib injury. Gainwell carried the ball 14 times in the opener, while Swift had just two touches.
It was Swift’s first appearance back in his hometown of Philadelphia with the Eagles. The Eagles acquired Swift in a trade day trade with the Detroit Lions.
The Eagles will look to move to 3-0 when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium on Monday night.
