Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Says Winning Is What Matters

Written by Tony Ghaul

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts in his press conference yesterday with the local media was asked, if he’s concerned about the way teams have defended against him the first two weeks.

“What I’m telling you is it’s not about me; it’s about us. So if they are doing something there for me, we got 250 yards of rushing to do that,” said Hurts, as per Zach Berman of PHLY.

“There are multiple ways to win. The thing I want to make clear is, when did winning not become the main thing? I always say, ‘keep the main thing the main thing where winning is the only thing that truly matters.”

I am in total agreement with Hurts on this. The Eagles are 19-1 in his last 20 starts at QB. That is what matters. To quote Herman Edwards, “You play to the win the game!”

This stuff that is being spewed on sports talk radio, specifically 94.1 WIP, is absolutely ridiculous. It’s all negative. Hurts has said before, that outside talk is “rat poison,” and I couldn’t agree more.

The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-0 and last week, they did it with a strong rushing attack. Monday, they might do it another way. In the end, what matters is the WIN.

The Eagles face the 2-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night. Hey Philadelphia sports talk radio and local media, winning is what matters.
