Written by Tony Ghaul

Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach Brian Johnson will interview for the open Notre Dame football offensive coordinator spot after the Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, according to a tweet from The Irish Tribune.

Johnson was hired on as the Eagles quarterbacks coach in 2021. He has played a key role in the development of QB Jalen Hurts.

Johnson spent time in the college ranks as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Florida, Houston and Utah in a coaching career that dates back to 2010.

Hurts had a MVP-TYPE season, throwing for 3,701 passing yards and rushing for 760 more. He became the eighth QB in NFL history to pass for 3,000 yards and rush for 750 in a single season.

Notre Dame offensive coordinator Tommy Rees took the same position at Alabama, after Bill O’Brien left for the New England Patriots.
