Eagles Pass Rusher Brandon Graham Plans To Get After Patrick Mahomes

Written by Tony Ghaul

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham believes that you must try to put as much pressure on Kansas Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes as possible.

“You’ve got to take your shot. You can’t play scared,” Graham said, via Matt Lombardo of Heavy Sports. “You see when teams play that way, he carves you up. So, I’ll take my shot, and if he makes a play, well, he gets paid too.”

The Eagles ability to get after the quarterback is the strength of their defense. They led the NFL in the regular season with 70 sacks. Graham was one of four players on the Eagles with double digit sack totals.

Mahomes can pick apart any defense if he has time to throw. The Eagles know that they must make him feel uncomfortable. Mahomes’ ability to escape pressure could be limited, as he is three weeks removed from suffering a high ankle sprain.

The Eagles defense has been pressuring quarterbacks throughout this year’s playoffs, with five sacks against the Giants and three sacks against the 49ers.
