Yesterday’s 42-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers marked the fifth straight game in which the Philadelphia Eagles have fallen behind after the first two quarters.
This is a trend that the 10-2 Eagles have to change. You can’t afford to fall behind in the first half to the red hot Dallas Cowboys on the road this upcoming Sunday.
The Eagles first scoring drives were long and and impressive yesterday, but resulted in field goals instead of touchdowns. The defense was flying around the ball on the 49ers first two possessions.
After three straight games of trailing at halftime and turning on in the second half and winning all three, yesterday the 49ers took control of the game and the Eagles could not climb back.
Falling behind in the first half and coming back with great second half’s caught up with the Eagles. Against good teams, you have to come out and start the game strong.
The trend of trailing at halftime has to end. Let’s start this week against the Cowboys. The Eagles offense needs to come out and get in the end zone.
