The Philadelphia Eagles officially put CB Avonte Maddox on Injured Reserve. Maddox needs surgery to repair a torn pec muscle and he will probably miss the entire season.
The Eagles are filling Maddox’s roster spot by signing punt returner Britain Covey off their practice squad to the active roster.
The 27 year-old Maddox has dealt with many injuries throughout his six-year career. He missed 9 nine regular season games and one playoff game last season due to injuries.
Covey had been elevated to the roster on game day the first two weeks, as the Eagles punt returner.
The Eagles have replaced Covey’s spot on the practice squad with on the practice squad by signing RB Bryant Koback.
