The Philadelphia Eagles sign former Cleveland Browns CB Greedy Williams, as per Mary Kay Cabot.
Williams was the Browns second-round pick in 2019 out of LSU. He has spent the first four seasons of his career in Cleveland. He missed the entire 2020 season with a shoulder injury.
The 25-year-old Williams played in 11 games this past season, primarily on special teams. In 2021, he had 41 total tackles, 10 passes defended, two interceptions, and one forced fumble.
Williams joins a secondary with two veteran, established cornerbacks in James Bradberry, who re-signed this week, and Darius Slay, who narrowly avoided release and signed an extension today.
With the Eagles, he’ll look to fit in a deep cornerback rotation and could find a role on special teams.
