Carter slid through the legs of Chiefs center Creed Humphrey to try and intercept a spiked ball from QB Patrick Mahomes.
After the game, Carter spoke to the media about the play. “I saw it on the internet, I’ve seen it on YouTube, some high school kid tried, and he actually caught the ball,” Carter told reporters. “I thought, ‘That’s a good idea,’ I knew they would spike it, so I tried to go for it,” said Carter, as per Adam Schefter at ESPN.
Carter had 3 tackles on the night and made his presence felt on the night. For the season, he has 16 tackles, 4.0 sacks, five tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.
The Eagles drafted Carter with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He is one of the top candidates for the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award.
