Does the knee injury to #JoelEmbiid hurt his MVP chances?

Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid went down with a knee injury during Friday night’s game against the Washington Wizards. Embiid has been mentioned as of late in the MVP conversation alongside Lebron James, Stephen Curry and others. He is set to undergo an MRI after hyperextending his left knee due to a failed dunk attempt.

I’m not a doctor, but the injury itself doesn’t look good. It may sideline up him easily multiple weeks and it can certainly hurt his MVP chances. Obviously the number one concern for the 76ers is getting the big man healthy. hopefully it isn’t worse that what’s being reported, because this video makes the injury look even worse.

Personally, if Lebron can stay healthy and get the Los Angeles Lakers on track without Anthony Davis he may run away with the award. In his seventeenth year in the NBA that achievement would be astonishing.
