Los Angeles Dodgers star first baseman Freddie Freeman was forced to leave Team Canada’s World Baseball Classic game with a hamstring injury, per FOX Sports: MLB on Twitter.

Freeman hit a pop-up on the left side of the infield and began running awkwardly down to first base.

Team Canada eventually pulled Freeman from the game with a “slight hamstring injury.”

The Dodgers are dealing with many injury concerns heading into the season. Ace pitcher Walker Buehler is expected to miss the majority of the year as he recovers from his second Tommy John surgery.

Gavin Lux, who was the projected starting shortstop, suffered a torn ACL early in camp and will miss the season.
