Written by Tony Ghaul

Los Angeles Dodgers star pitcher Julio Urías was reportedly arrested and charged with felony domestic violence charges Sunday night following the series against the Atlanta Braves, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

The 27 year-old Urias was booked late Sunday and released early this morning on $50,000 bond,” Passan reported. The details of the incident are not clear. Urias has a court date set for September 27.

“We are aware of an incident involving Julio Urías,” the Dodgers said in a statement. “While we attempt to learn all the facts, he will not be traveling with the team. The organization has no further comment at this time.”

In 2019, Urías was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery. While he was eventually not charged, he received a 20-game suspension under Major League Baseball’s domestic violence policy.

This season, Urias has a 11-8 record with a 4.60 ERA and 117 strikeouts in 117.1 innings. He won 20 games in 2021 and 17 last season.
